Automotive Diagnostics and Repairs

1. Targets:

This program equips students with a strong foundation in automotive diagnostics, maintenance, and repair through a combination of comprehensive theoretical instruction and practical hands-on training.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive a certificate and possess the knowledge and practical skills needed to pursue entry-level opportunities and advance their careers in the automotive service industry.

2. Description:

Students will explore the automotive repair industry, including market trends, vehicle construction principles, safety regulations, essential hand and power tools, and the evolution of engine and transmission systems. The program also introduces the fundamentals of hybrid and electric vehicle (EV) technology.

Through hands-on learning and technical instruction, students will develop the skills to diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, and other key vehicle systems. By identifying and resolving common mechanical and electrical issues, students will gain a solid understanding of vehicle operation, maintenance, and efficient repair practices.

Tuition Relief Initiative. Students are encouraged to bring their own vehicles to the in-shop training sessions for diagnosis, maintenance, and repair. There is no additional labour charge for work completed as part of the training program; students are responsible only for the cost of replacement parts and materials, if required. Many students have significantly reduced their vehicle maintenance expenses through this initiative. In fact, more than half of our students have saved an amount equal to or greater than their tuition by repairing their own vehicles—or those of family members or friends—under instructor supervision while gaining valuable hands-on experience.

3. Course Schedules:

Course Duration

72 hours of online theory instruction
72 hours of hands-on shop training

Theory Classes

2–3 evenings per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday)
7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

In-Shop Practical Training

12 sessions, 6 hours per session
Available Monday to Saturday at CAIC (on-site)
Class schedules are arranged based on students' availability

This flexible schedule is designed to accommodate students who work full-time. The program consists of 12 instructional modules delivered on a recurring cycle, allowing students to enroll at any time without waiting for a new intake. New students may join in the middle of the cycle and complete all modules as they rotate.
